Founder of Alibaba Group Jack in Nepal, asked time to meet PM Prachanda

Chinese billionaire Jack Ma has arrived in Nepal.

Jack Ma, the founder of the world-famous business company Alibaba Group, arrived in Kathmandu on Tuesday afternoon through a special chartered plane.

Director General of Immigration Department Jhalak Ram Adhikari has confirmed that he landed in Kathmandu.

According to Adhikari, Jack Ma has noted down the details that he came to Nepal from China at the airport immigration. Jack Ma arrived in Kathmandu from Japan.

Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) spokesperson Teknath Sitaula said seven Chinese passengers including Jack Ma landed in a chartered flight.

Jack Ma recently lived in Japan. He is one of the richest people in Asia.

Jack Ma’s special name is Ma Yun. He was born on September 10, 1964 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. He is professionally known as Jack Ma.

He is the founder and executive chairman of Alibaba Group. He is also the first Chinese entrepreneur to be featured on the cover story of the world famous Forbes Magazine.

According to Baluwatar sources, Jack Ma, who landed in Kathmandu by a special flight via Dhaka, Bangladesh, asked for time to meet Prime Minister Prachanda.

The Prime Minister is currently discussing with members of the Secretariat after Jack Ma requested time for a meeting.

“Jack Ma’s team has asked for time,” the Baluwatar source said, “We are consulting on this.”

Prime Minister’s Press Adviser Govinda Acharya said that Jack Ma, who came to Nepal, would be welcomed if he invests according to the laws of Nepal.

Along with the Prime Minister, Jack Ma’s team is making  preparations to meet with Finance Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
