Activist Bablu Gupta has become the youngest minister in the interim government of Nepal led by former chief justice Sushila Karki.
Gupta, who has been leading various social movements, became a minister at the age of 28. Gupta has managed to set the record for becoming the youngest minister in Nepal’s history.
He, whose permanent home is Siraha, became the Federal Minister of Youth and Sports on Sunday at the age of 28. People close to him say that Gupta, who has a gentle nature, is humble and kind. According to his citizenship, his date of birth is Falgun 25, 2054.
Gupta, who took office immediately after becoming the minister, has already decided to live-stream all meetings of the Sports Ministry.
The government of then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli collapsed due to the Gen-G movement that took place on Bhadra 23 and 24.
This is the third extension since the government was formed on Bhadra 10 under the leadership of former Chief Justice Sushila Karki.
Earlier, in 2079 BS, Abdul Khan was the youngest minister in the Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda-led cabinet. A proportional representation MP from the Janmat Party, he became a minister at the age of 35.
